Day 1 - Arrival in Marrakesh

We checked in for our flight at Heathrow at 2.15 pm, and flew with Royal Air Maroc to Marrakesh, with a schedulated stop at Casablanca and an unscheduled one at Tnagier. Casablanca Airport is very impressive, and provided a good start to our trip to Morocco. We arrived in Marrakesh around 11, and had a quick briefing from Katie, our splendid tour leader, soon after our arrival at the hotel. The hotel was quite adequate, though not up to international standard (which would anyway have been inappropraite for our trip). Any defects in its appointments were amply complensated by its splendid central postion.
